Project description
Parkinson’s disease is a neurodegenerative disorder that has been associated with auditory intensity perception deficits. To date, the audiological and neurophysiological background of these perception deficits is unknown. Our group will investigate the functioning of modality-specific gating mechanisms, in relation to primary auditory perception and attention. This proposal comprises fundamental and interdisciplinary research in neuroscience.
