Project description

Sunlight entering buildings through windows is an important source of heat. “Smart” windows can offer a solution, but the existing technologies are expensive, and more focused on privacy than on heat reduction.

The aim of this project is to improve the prototype switching between a transparent and a backscattering state that we have realized in a previous starTT project, based on feedback from industrial players: improve contrast, increase switching speed and stability. We will strengthen the IP with novel ideas regarding electrode shape and particle type, and find an industrial partner for further co-development based on a licence strategy.
