Project description

Within the framework of two ongoing FWO Investigations by Prof. Dr. Olivier F. Colins, 16- or 17-year-old boys (FWO Odysseus; G0H7818N) and girls (FWO Research Project; G007720N) who have committed (or at least were suspected of committing) crimes and/or exhibited behavioral problems were recruited for research. Follow-up research is currently being prepared to re-approach boys who are 18 years of age or older (starting in 2024) and girls who are 18 years of age or older (starting in 2026 at the earliest) to participate in scientific research, if they have given their consent. The Start Credit will be used to help support the girls' follow-up research, to have a researcher/postdoc publish based on the data that will be collected as part of both follow-up studies, and to have a researcher/postdoc prepare an FWO application (FWO Aspirant/Postdoctoral Fellowship). Thus, the Start-up Credit will mainly be used to finance personnel costs.
