Projectomschrijving

De hypothese wordt getest dat de 'normaleit' van wervelversmelting in de evolutie ons inzichten kan geven in het pathologisch, ontogenetisch proces van wervelversmelting, d.m.v. een vergelijking tussen zebravis en Atlantische zalm. De studie zal gebeuren via (1) histomorfologisch onderzoek, '2) opsporen van de spatio-temporele distributie van regulatorische en structurele moleculen betrokken in de vorming van wervels, en (3) orgaanculturen.
