Project description

The influence of selective 5-HT4 receptor agonists on acetylcholine release from brain slices is examined for possible application in degenerative brain diseases, characterized by memory loss. Parallelly, the influence of the agonists is investigated on peripheral 5-HT4 receptors in the gastro-intestinal tract and in the heart to select the substances with as little peripheral effect as possible.
