Project description

Development of new methods for isotopic analysis of lithium and boron via multi-collector ICP-mass spectrometry, conssting of target element isolation and subsequent measurement of isotope ratios. Study of the giant meteorite impact (65 million years ago) via Li isotopic analysis of samples from the Cretaceous/Tertiary boundary and use of the isotopic composition of B in natural chronological archives as a paleo-pH meter/paleothermometer.
