Project description

The proposed research project aims to study variation in in the European Parliament’s decision-making on  international trade using a discourse-theoretical approach. We will first map discursive variation on international  trade through topic modeling. Next, two case studies will explain instances of variation through analysis of the  extra-parliamentary discourses to which parliamentarian were exposed via media, informal political contacts and  lobbying.
