UGent has filed a priority document for a novel synthetic approach for complexes bearing N-heterocyclic carbenes. The project focuses on expanding the supporting dataset within the priority year and performing first scale up experiments of solventless synthetic access to these complexes. The aim is to provide economical and sustainable access to compounds finding applications in catalysis on industrial scale.
