In the past two decades, pioneering and high-quality research into the linguistic structure of Flemish Sign Language (VGT) has been carried out in Flanders, including at Ghent University. This resulted in academic publications, but the results rarely reached the target audience, namely deaf signers in Flanders. The valorisation project #AboutVGTInVGT aims to provide an answer to this through online social anchoring. The aim is to bring all studies together and to provide an adequate and up-to-date picture of the research results that have been collected to date on the VGT. As the main target group, deaf signers need information about their own language, available in their own language. With the development of a sustainable website focused on VGT research communication, we recognize this need and we will make a major constructive contribution, which can lead to more in-depth education and greater awareness about the own language, VGT.
