The realization of the concept of a new university museum should be tailored to the unique niche that such a museum can take within the museum world. This concept not only offers the opportunity to bring together various collections of the rich academic / weten¬schappelijk heritage of our university, but offers the added value to form a kind of portal for scientific communication from a sub-search Institute and the University of Ghent and the broad public. This project therefore aims to join-sen on this niche, so that on the one hand the target audience (and his interests) and to identify the potential at Ghent University (collection management and research). The information obtained will be key on the basis of some specific museological activities, which the current university collections will be combined and integrated. The project strategy based on the following major outlines: (I) are part of the history and current assets of the existing university collections; (II) developing the concept and scenario to implementation to work towards an overall Univ Museum; and (III), the concrete operation with the description of the detailed examination, the preliminary study and the effects of a test phase, on the basis of moments of communication. This will require a 4-year-old work plan in order to be able to be realized in all its facets.
