Liquid-chromatography (LC) has been in use in doping control laboratories world-wide for several decades. Known for it's robustness it has been a reliable aid for most laboratories for over 25 years.
Since the nineties, liquid-chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry has been introduced in doping control laboratories. The combination of the reliability associated with LC and the sensitivity of mass spectrometry (MS) has led to better and more sensitive detection methods for diuretics, corticosteroids, several anabolic agents, etc. DoCoLab has been at the forefront of doping control laboratories with the implementation of this technique and nowadays heavily relies on LC/MS for the detection of several classes of drugs.
