Project description

Open-cell metal foam is a porous material consisting of a network of solid ligaments. The material can be used in thermal applications due to the high porosity, high specific surface area, low mass and high thermal conductivity. For a given heat transfer problem with foam, the aim is to obtain an accurate solution, in a computationally efficient manner and by means of a method which is sufficiently generic.
