Project description

The MAXWind project is aimed at the life cycle optimization of offshore wind farms. Focus is on numerical simulation of fatigue and corrosion, virtual observations, fleet leader concept, and updating a structural reliability model. A better estimate of the remaining lifespan of the current wind turbines as well as of safety factors used during the design will become possible. This will result in optimized inspection and maintenance plans for a group of similar structures and help bring the LCoE below 60 €/MWh.
