Project description
This project wants to contribute to the literature dealing with the relationship between cultural practices and social stratification and aims at understanding how fields of cultural consumption are socially structured anno 2011. A first aim is to analyze whether Flanders can be characterized by individualization, homology or omnivorousness by using Multiple Correspondence Analysis. A second aim is to investigate empirically to what extent principles of classification and processes of distinction are similar or different across the different cultural subfields, c.q. plastic arts, film and traveling.
