Project description
The role of programmed cell death (PCD) during flowering and fertilization will be investigated in the plant model Arabidopsis. Stigmatic papilla cells are important determinants of pollination with a restricted, developmentally controlled life time. We will use papillar PCD to elucidate the gene regulatory network and the cell biology of developmentally controlled PCD in plant reproduction.
