Project description

My lab discovered that the IRE1/XBP1-branch of the unfolded protein response (UPR) is constitutively activated in a specific subset of dendritic cells (DCs). A subsequent RNASeq study revealed a novel role for regulated IRE1 dependent decay (RIDD). In this project, we want to elucidate the physiological role for RIDD and its regulation mechanism during tolerogenic antigen presentation in DCs.
