Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning are becoming very common in many different sectors. The goal of this research is to use radar sensors and machine learning techniques in healthcare to monitor and detect the occurrence of critical life changing events of patients and elderly people, i.e., patient activity recognition, detecting anomalies, etc. The overall research involves several data collection campaigns of real hospital patients and elderly people for different activities using compact radar sensors, radar data processing and developing machine learning techniques of increasing complexity and abilities for predictive modeling and automated decision making systems.
