Project description

TAOK3 is a kinase that has been identified in a screen for potential target genes in diabetes. In this research project we will explore the metabolism of Taok3 deficient mice, focusing on its role in insulin resistance and the potential link to ER stress, Notch inhibition or PPARg activation. In addition, novel compounds that specifically inhibit TAOK3 kinase activity will be tested in mouse models for insulin resistance.
