Plant pathogens are capable of influencing their host plant by so-called effector proteins. In this project we do research on rice and the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne graminicola. The goal is to identify nematode effector genes that are necessary for a successful infection. This will hopefully identify possible targets for a sustainable control of the parasite.
