Project description
To increase the lifetime of electric actuators, it is of interest to detect faulty actuator ball bearings. In this research, an alternative detection approach with respect to the accelerometer based state of art methods is investigated. The studied method uses motor current signals only to assess the radial shaft displacement within the actuator due to faults in the supporting bearings. Through a digital twin, it is tried to fasten the fault detection.
