Project description

The diachronic study and reconstruction of the ideas about innovation (bid'a), apostasy (irtidād) and blasphemy (sabb) of Ibn Taymiyya (1263-1328), one of the most influential Islamic thinkers until the present, by means of a reconstruction of his related doctrine, its evolution and background, as found in his own works and in their confrontation with the intellectual and sociopolitical context.
