Project description

Adopting a rigorous genre-theoretical approach, the proposed research project aims to produce a major critical intervention on the British ode, a genre the historical diversity of which has been inadequately charted. Promoting an inclusive examination of canonic and non-canonic authors' productions, the project seeks to offer a complex and nuanced account of the range and variety of the genre throughout the long 18th century (1680-1830).
