Based on an analysis of the coastal States' practice, the different views with regard to the gaps and the creeping jurisdiction of the provisions concerning the division of jurisdiction in the Exclusive Economic Zone as set in the MOntego Bay Treaty of 1982 (Law of the Sea Treaty), as well as the policy instruments resulting from this, will be the subject of a critical study.
