Project description

The main objective of the FLOODMOIST-project is to investigate the benefits of jointly assimilating remotely sensed observations of soil moisture and flood extent into coupled hydrologic-hydraulic models. Research will be performed to improve the soil moisture retrievals from remotely sensed observations and to estimate the uncertainty in flood maps. Finally, the merit of assimilating both products will be assessed.
