Project description

The development of seedlings must be tuned to the mechanical stress experienced upon growth under ground. The regulatory role of the plant hormones jasmonate and ethylene, and the cell-type specific action of ethylene will be studied. Finally, the interdependence of these signals during several aspects of development upon underground germination will be explored.
