Projectomschrijving

LPS injectie in zoogdieren leidt tot een sepsis-achtige respons. BB-94 (een MMP-inhibitor) en ook MMP7 en MMP8 knockouts blijken een volledige bescherming te bieden tegen LPS in muizen. Het doel van dit project is dan ook om enerzijds de therapeutische niches te onderzoeken van (eventueel nieuw ontwikkelde) MMP-inhibitoren en anderzijds de rol van MMP's in diverse immunologische modellen te bestuderen.
