Project description

Intestinal worm infections have a major impact on public health in the Global South. The World Health Organization recommends large-scale deworming programs. Although these programs reduce the burden of disease, there is also the risk of drug resistance. We want to use the funds to (i) identifythe most cost-efficient way to monitor these programs, (ii) improvediagnostics, (iii) monitor the therapeutic efficiency of the medicines used and (iv) study the mechanism of drug resistance.
