Project description
This project investigates the effect of berberine on intestinal health, via the interactions with the gut  microbiota. More specifically, we study the effect of berberine on the gut microbiota composition and functions, and in turn the role of the gut microbiome in the biotransformation of berberine into bioactive metabolites, affecting berberine bioavailability and activity in vivo.
