Project description

In this project, the Ancient Greek particles gar, oun and de are reinterpreted according to modern pragmatic theories. The last systematic analysis of these elements dates from the 1950s; in this project, they are reanalyzed as discourse markers - they do not contribute to the content of the text, but instead guide the audience towards the correct interpretation of that context.
