Project description

2-(2-Cyanoethyl)aziridines will be deployed for the construction of novel 2-(aminomethyl)pyrrolidines and 3-aminopiperidines via LiAlH4-induced transformations. Special attention will be devoted to the control of the regio- and stereochemistry. This project aims at providing new fundamental insights in the field of aziridine chemistry. In addition, selected target compounds will be evaluated in terms of their potential bioactivity (antimalarial agents).
