We will use nanobody technology to study formation and maturation of invadopodia. We aim to study and counteract invadopodium formation by blocking specific functions of cortactin. Identification of anatagonistic cortactin nanobodies may serve a double purpose: reduce tumor cell motility as well as invadopodium formation. We will use a novel interactomics strategy to understand how nanobodies trigger changes in cancer cell migration and invadopodium formation at the molecular level. Our study will help pin down neww targets for future drug development wit applications in the treatment of cancer.
