Project description
Plants are threatened by adverse environments ((a)biotic stresses) in which they must continuously adapt to survive. Mitochondria play crucial roles in sensing and reporting stress signals to the nucleus. This project aims to identify protease(s) responsible for activation of membrane-bound transcription factors of a novel mitochondria-to-nucleus signaling pathway recently identified in the host lab, using state-of-the-art proteomics and chemical-biology approaches.
