Project description
Open-channel confluences are important for natural rivers, artificial canals and hydraulic structures. The flow characteristics, determining the mixing of substances and bed changes, are often studied with a T-shaped planform, but without changes in width of the main channel. This study contributes to the delineation of the flow separation zone and the quantification of backwater-effects, in presence of width-discordance.
