Project description

Lower limb lymphoedema is a frequent complication of treatment for gynaecological cancer, with significant impact on self-image, functioning and quality of life of our patients. Data on the prevalence of LLL are limited to advanced lymphoedema, mostly from retrospective surveys. There are no data on early lymphoedema, a stage where secondary prevention can play an important role.

The Gynolymph examines the natural evolution of lymphoedema in the group of women treated curatively for gynaecological cancer, by including them from diagnosis onwards, as well as the impact of early intervention in women who develop reversible stage 0-1 lymphoedema.

The trial format allows us to provide a picture of the incidence and evolution of lymphoedema in this population, the risk factors, the impact on quality of life, the cost for patients and the role of compressive clothing pressure class 2 in early lymphoedema.
