HIV-1 AIDS restriction factors

Project description

Restriction factors are cellular proteins that interfere with retro- and lentiviral replication. HIV-1 encodes a series of small proteins that block the function of these restriction factors: tat, rev, nef, vif, vpu and vpr. In this project, we aim at a better understanding of the interplay between these HIV-1 accessory proteins and the cellular restriction factors.
