The general objective is to train the early-stage researchers in soft computing and bio-inspired computing techniques, with research applications in medical imaging. Specifically for UGhent the focus is on noise reduction (to obtain more qualitative images while keeping important details for diagnosis) and similarity between medical images (for retrieval in large medical image databases, classification of images in such databases).
