Project description

The increasing consumption of aquatic products has drawn much attention to the development of a sustainable aquaculture and fishery sector. Declining fishery catches and changing consumer requirements for a diversified range of safe, high quality farmed aquatic products has inevitably lead to regional and national specialization in research as well as in education. Due to the diversity of aquaculture and fisheries, education in this sector calls for a multidisciplinary approach. The program aims to help young graduates to become aquaculture experts. After finishing, the participants should be able to: (1) do conduct and management research independently; (2) to successfully develop and launch applications; (3) spread their acquired knowledge through education and extension; (4) to practice a managerial function in an aquaculture enterprise.
