Project description

My research combines big data analytics with qualitative methods to gain new insights into urban environments, sports events, and nightlife. Utilizing large-scale datasets and advanced analytical techniques, the project aims to identify patterns, trends, and risks in these settings. At the same time, qualitative insights, derived from observations, site visits, and in-depth knowledge of local contexts, are highly valued. This combined approach provides a richer, more nuanced understanding for policymakers, urban planners, sports organizations, and safety experts. The goal is to develop a data-driven yet context-sensitive approach to urban planning, sports-related decision-making, and nightlife safety. In addition to uncovering potential challenges such as security and well-being, the project will address ethical and privacy concerns associated with big data, while emphasizing the importance of qualitative knowledge in understanding complex social issues.
