Project description

The aim of the GRASS project is to raise public awareness of the difference in fire behaviour between natural and artificial turf, and to improve the fire behaviour of artificial turf by developing innovative, environmentally-friendly processes that can be applied on an industrial scale.

 
Role of Ghent University
Next to the project management Ghent University will be responsible for the following activities: testing of fire resistance of artificial turf and all its components for a better understanding of the fire behaviour production of prototypes and testing of them compared to the standards communication and enhancement of the awareness of the various stakeholders in close co-operation with the other partners.
