Project description
Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) is a poisonous, highly corrosive, and flammable gas that can harm the equipment utilized in burning biogas. This research focuses on removing H₂S to sweeten biogas using novel metal oxide nanoparticles as catalysts. Initially, we will set up a lab-scale measurement system to test H₂S removal from synthetic, biogas using a bed reactor with commercial metal oxide in a hand-made adsorption column. We'll then synthesize the metal oxide structure to achieve optimal and cost-effective H₂S adsorption. Finally, we will study the impact of operating parameters on H₂S removal performance and the lifespan of the filters.
