The basic research funding will allow me to create a stable research framework and will give me room to attract additional research funding. Specifically, the funding will be used for the following purposes:
- an assistant mandate expired at the end of June,. The assistant will start as a post-doc, finananced by faculty resources, at the end of September. The basic research funding allows me to fund the assistant for 3 months. During this period, his tasks will include developing a project proposal for external funding. (e.g. FWO)
- recruiting a new PhD bursary student, by combining a part of my basic research funding with those of colleagues
- further development of our consumer lab and research panel
- further development of the BE4LIFE research centre (e.g. co-organising the first BE4LIFE congress).
