In its current LULUCF Action Plan, the Flemish government formulated a number of SMART operational objectives. In this assignment, the carbon sequestration potential of these objectives is examined. More specifically, a calculation note is made based on literature research and own expertise, answering the following questions: What is the annual CO2 emission or storage for the distinguished LULUCF land use categories in Flanders? What combinations between the land use categories are possible per operational objective? What is the expected impact of the different operational objectives on the carbon balance
in the soil? What are good preconditions/thresholds/limits to use for projects ifv obligation carbon balance in the environmental impact assessment?
