Bio
Enthusiast about R&D, industrial biotechnology, and gas fermentation. I completed a MSc in Engineering - Sustainable Biotechnology at Aalborg Univesity (Copenhagen) and a BSc in Biochemistry at Autonomous University of Madrid. I consider myself a hard-working, committed, and proactive person. My main goal is to develop a scientific career in the field of Sustainable Biotechnology or Bioprocesses Engineering. Furthermore, one of my biggest interests is to create new upcycling pathways for the valorization of different waste streams, such as organic waste, paper biosludge, municipal sludge, or industrial off-gases. Currently pursuing an industrial PhD funded by FWO (strategic basic research) at Ghent University and Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant, an state-of-the-art company with a focus on the circular bioeconomy and the scale-up of bioprocesses. Previously I have worked as an R&D Engineer in the field of gas fermentation, being involved in the optimization and scale-up of processes aiming to valorize industrial off-gases. Within the framework of BioSFerA project, I moved to Helsinki temporarily together with the Bio Base Mobile Pilot Plant for the scale-up and industrial validation of syngas-to-acetate gas fermentation process.
