Description
The research group Studies in Performing Arts and Media (S:PAM) has a five-fold focus in theatre and performance studies. Within 'technologies' modern and new media are studied, as well as their impact on the performing arts. ‘Memories, traumas and conflicts’ investigates how performing arts ‘act out’ and ‘work through’ violent conflicts and traumatic events. How performing arts deal with repertoire in general and classical tragedies in particular, is studied within 'histories'. A fourth focus is onthe study of 'dramaturgies’ with their intermediary role to the public. 'Practices', finally, focuses on the dialogue between the performing arts practice and the development of theories.
