The Jacques Rogge Olympic Studies Centre has been recognized by the Olympic Studies Centre of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as part of an international network of academic olympic studies and research centres. The centre is housed at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and there coordinated by the Department of Movement and Sports Sciences. The general aim of the centre is to function as the central Ghent University hub for the promotion of the Olympic values via research, education, and service. With that central aim in mind, the interdisciplinary centre brings together UGent scholars from different faculties and research areas.
