This research group gathers the researchers of the History Department focusing on the history of the Greco-Roman World, including its relations with other states, empires and cultures. The main focus of the research unit is the Roman World sensu largo, i.e. including the eastern (Greek) provinces and Late Antiquity. Yet, this is not an absolute limitation. Some members and projects focus on the Classical Greek or Hellenistic World, others on Byzantine history.
