Description
Research conducted by the Ghent Research Team on Linguistic Meaning and Structure (GLIMS) deals with ‘grammar’ in the broad sense of the term: (morpho)syntax and semantics, including the interfaces with the lexicon and lexical morphology on the one hand and with discourse on the other hand. The following research areas are central: (1) the grammar of the clause and the verbal and nominal group, (2) grammatical alternations, (3) aspect and modality / evidentiality, (4) clause combining/embedding, and (5) discourse markers and the impact of information structure.
