Description
The research group Urban History (UrbanHistory) builds on decades of expertise in research into the histories of cities. The research group focuses of the late Middle Ages and Early Modern period and has a broad interest in questions related to the socio-economic, political and cultural dimensions of the urban life in the historical Low Countries (present-day Belgium, the Netherlands and Northern France) and beyond. There is a strong collaboration with archaeologists, art historians and literary historians and with urban historians of other Belgian and foreign universities and research institutions, sustained by Belgian and Flemish research funds.
