Description
The Computational Omics and Systems Biology (CompOmics) group of Prof. Martens was established in 2009, and has since become one of the world-leading groups in proteomics bioinformatics, and in machine learning applications in omics analyses. As a result, the CompOmics group has created several cutting-edge algorithms and novel statistical methods for data analysis and interpretation in (meta-)proteomics and high-throughput metabolomics. Today, the group continuous to develop such breakthrough approaches, with increasing emphasis on the meta-analysis of the vast amount of publicly available omics data. The computational advances achieved by the group have consistently been implemented in production-grade software tools tailored for end users, which remain actively supported today.
