Description
The Hydraulics Laboratory is one of the units of the department of Civil Engineering. It was founded in 1935 by Prof L.J. Tison (1895-1982). The adapted and specialized laboratory infrastructure provides a modern environment for fundamental as well asapplied hydraulic research work. Research activities in the Hydraulics Laboratory are mainly situated in the following fields:
-Hydraulic structures (navigation locks, weirs, sluices, fish passes, energy dissipating structures, bed and bank protection, drainage constructions,...)
-Hydrodynamics and morphodynamics of rivers and estuaries
-Eco-hydraulics
The laboratory facilities are also being used in study programs at bachelor and master level.
